Dmp-Kma four-lane: CPO resolves to support contractors

Chumukedima, October 29 (MExN): Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) has resolved to support the contractors who have got the contract for the Dimapur-Kohima four-lane project under its jurisdiction.

As per information from National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), the work of two packages within the CPO jurisdiction was allotted to M/s Ramky and ECI (Joint Venture) by NHIDCL for a chainage of 123.84 to 138.775 km (existing 124-140 km) and 138.775 to 152.49 km (existing 140-156 km), informed a press release from CPO president, Vichütuolie Mere and publicity & information in-charge, Khrielievi-u Khro.

In a meeting, the CPO also decided that all the village councils, landowners and individuals should co-operate, assist and also extent necessary support to the contractors while they execute the works, “since the Dimapur-Kohima road is one of the most important roads for Nagaland.”

The organization also appealed to every citizen that no oppositions, obstructions and objections should arise within its territorial domain while the project is carried out. “In case of any disturbance or disruption to smooth functioning on the project by any elements, the CPO will deal with all seriousness within its jurisdiction,” it added. The CPO also requested the contractors that local/village authority’s services should be availed in order to avoid any misunderstandings with the contractors' labourers and the villagers since every village has its own territory.

“The CPO has full faith and confidence that the two reputed firms will complete the works within the stipulated time frame and without compromising the quality of work as per the specification given by the authority,” the release added. In case of any inferior quality works or manipulation of items of work, it stated, the public will have to raise objection to the authority concerned against the contractors.
