Dimapur, November 7 (MExN): The Diphupar Nkonjan Lotha Ekhung (DNLE) celebrated the 42nd Lotha Tokhu Emong on November 7. Attired in colourful traditional costumes, Lotha community of Diphupar area both young and old gathered at Agri Expo site to celebrate Tokhu Emong, the premier festival of the Lothas.
According to DPRO Dimapur, on the occasion, Rev. Dr. Ezamo Murry highlighted on the significance of the festival. Choir Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar added more colours with a folk rendition while Tselamo Kikon presented Lotha modern song.
Marking the day, yondelling competition, tug of war amongst colonies, Lotha traditional attires competition was also held. Invocation prayer was said by Catechist Infant Jesus Church, Orenthung Yanthan while prayer of blessings was pronounced by Pastor, Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar, Limhathung Lotha.
Chairman Lotha Ekhung Diphupar, Zuchumo delivered the welcome note while General Secretary Lotha Community Diphupar, E.Zuben Patton proposed the vote of thanks. Associate Pastor, LBCD, Yimstu Yanthan pronounced the benediction and also offered blessings for the Tokhu feast.
