DNP+ reaches out to mass

Dimapur, March 15 (MExN): The Dimapur Network of people living with HIV/AIDS (DNP+), Dimapur conducted an advocacy cum sensitization programme with the rickshaw and thella pullers of Dimapur on March 6, 2011 at Centre for Community Transformation, Walford, Dimapur under the theme “Reaching out the unreached”, supported by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), Kohima.
A press note issued by Moatemjen Phom, president Dimapur Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (DNP+) informed that the resource person of the programme was Dr. Temsu, M.O ICTC, District Hospital Dimapur, who shared on the topic of STI, Condoms, Voluntary Blood Donation & Testing. Penesa, general secretary, DNP+ shared on the topic ‘Basics of HIV & AIDS, Care and support for PLHIV,’ was shared by Avah, Counselor, Care DIC of DNP+. Also, ‘Stigma and discrimination’ was shared by Darshim of DNP+. Yanger Aier, Support Net Officer, DNP+ shared on the topic ‘Service Available in Dimapur District for PLHIV’ and Moa Phom, President, DNP+ shared on the topic ‘Importance of testing’. The note also mentioned that around 100 participants attended the Programme which includes Staffs of mobile ICTC and 34 persons volunteered for Voluntary Blood testing.
