DNSU calls for uninterrupted power supply during exams

Dimapur, December 2 (MExN): The Dimapur Naga Students' Union (DNSU) has appealed to the Electrical Department to ensure a consistent electricity supply during the ongoing exam season. Acknowledging that load shedding during summer months may be unavoidable due to high demand, the union urged the department to prioritize the needs of students during this critical period and prevent disruptions caused by irregular power cuts.

The DNSU also expressed concern over complaints from students and parents regarding loud music emanating from night carnivals and melas in the city. The union called on organizers of such events to strictly adhere to directives issued by the district administration and police, particularly regarding the prohibition of loud music after stipulated hours, which is punishable by law.

The DNSU urged authorities to conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with the regulations. It also suggested that permissions for such events in densely populated urban areas be avoided in the future, advocating for their relocation to more isolated venues to minimize disruptions.

Extending their best wishes to all students appearing for exams, DNSU General Secretary Michael Kath and Assistant General Secretary Azo Wetsah reaffirmed the union’s commitment to addressing issues affecting the student community.
