DNSU calls off proposed bandh

DIMAPUR, MARCH 29 (MExN): The Diphupar Naga Students’ Union’s (DNSU) proposed ‘Blanket Bandh’ scheduled from March 30 has been called off. A press note from the DNSU informed that the appeal made for two Math teachers in the Government High School Diphupar has been acknowledged by the School Education Department. “In this regard, the transfer of Usha Devi (G/T) from Govt. High School Diphupar to Govt. Hr. Sec. School Chozuba has been reverted and also S. Asangba Jamir (G/T) Govt. Hr. Sec School Dimapur has been accorded to Govt. High School Diphupar on immediate priority,” the DNSU informed. Acknowledging the Department of School Education for heeding to their demands, the DNSU urged the department to further “push forth to bring in positive changes in our society.” It further appreciated the support from the Diphupar Village Council, Diphupar Naga Women Organization, Diphupar Naga Youth Organization, its tribal Units and all its well-wishers “in pursuing this common goal.”
