Dimapur, May 18 (MExN): The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) today cautioned that “some private agencies are approaching schools and colleges to collect the names and money from students on the pretext of filling up scholarships forms.”
“The Ministry of Minority Affairs is yet to give directives to fill up the scholarship forms,” DNSU reiterated in a press release issued on May 18.
The Union also informed that there were some technical issues in the past related to agencies and scholarship which had created havoc between students and agencies. Therefore, DNSU “warned those responsible agencies to take proper precautionary measures before taking up the task.”
Further, the Union has also directed those erring agencies to approach the DNSU office and “sign the undertaking to take complete responsibility on any discrepancies in the due course of executing the duty on scholarship.”
Urges to consider fee concession
Meanwhile, DNSU also made an appeal to all the private schools and colleges to give fee concession to students. “With the outbreak of COVID- 19 pandemic, majority of the citizens are at distress mentally, physically, and financially. As such that, it is the moral and social obligation of every sensible citizen to understand the situation and hardships of our fellow citizens on humanitarian ground,” it stated.
