DNSU condemns allegations of sexual molestation by Senior Pastor

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 5 (MExN): The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has issued a strong condemnation of the alleged sexual molestation of minors by the Senior Pastor of Father’s House Church in Chümoukedima. 

In a statement, the DNSU commended the Church Board for its prompt response, which includes demanding the pastor’s immediate resignation and barring him from church representation. This decisive action reflects a commitment to maintaining moral and ethical standards within the community.

The DNSU expressed support for the ongoing police investigation and urged authorities to take stringent action against the accused to ensure justice for the victims. It acknowledged the assurance from the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, regarding the filing of a case or taking suo moto action once sufficient evidence is gathered.

As an organization focused on protecting and promoting students’ welfare, the DNSU voiced deep concern over allegations involving minors, reiterating that sexual exploitation and abuse are heinous crimes deserving of zero tolerance. It called on authorities to expedite the investigation and ensure prompt justice, while urging the community to provide support and protection for the victims and their families. The DNSU also requested that individuals refrain from making inflammatory statements, allowing the law to proceed without prejudice.

The DNSU, meanwhile, reaffirmed its commitment to creating a safe environment for all, particularly vulnerable groups such as children and minors, and pledged to closely monitor the situation while collaborating with relevant stakeholders to prevent future incidents.
