Do away with blame games & mistrust: NSCN-K (Niki) Mhonbemo

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 14 (MExN): The NSCN-K (Niki) celebrated the 78th Naga Independence Day in the premises of CFSB Office, Padumpukhuri in Dimapur. Mhonbemo Tsanglao, Kilo Kilonser, NSCN/GPRN graced the occasion as chief guest and unfurled the Naga national flag. 

Addressing the gathering, Mhonbemo made a clarion call for the Naga people to unite in order to achieve our dreams and aspirations and the right to self-determination. 

Reflecting on the history of Naga political movement, Mhonbemo said despite all the intolerable hardships and sufferings, our forefathers never backed out but stood firm with bravery and courage to fight for the inherent rights of the Nagas to live as free people and free nation. 

He said, despite all the inhuman atrocities committed upon the innocent Naga people by outside forces and also after being divided into different boundaries without consultation with the bonafide inhabitants of the land, the Naga forefathers were able to withstand all hurdles and continued to fight against the oppressors because there was unity and trust and the will. 

He regretted that the present Naga society have failed to emulate and follow the footsteps of the forefathers because disunity and mistrust have nurtured by external forces have crept into our society.  He called upon all sections of Naga society to do away with all the blame games and mistrust between one another before it is too late and once again, come together as one people in unity and trust to carry forward the quest for the cause of the Nagas. 

A one minute silent prayer in honour and memory of the martyrs was also observed. Inovi Naga, Cabinet Secretary, read out the President's speech. Uketo Chophy, Kilo Secretary delivered the welcome address. Khutoli Chishi, Deputy Kilonser conducted the presentation ceremony.
