
KOHIMA, June 11 (MExN): The Agri Produce Marketing Committee (APMC), Pfutsero has appealed to the municipal town councils, police and private organizations not to levy tax on locally produced agri products.
Pointing out that locally produced agri-products are the only source of livelihood for farmers, a press release issued by APMC Pfutsero Chairman, Sanyi Dukri, stated that the levying of tax discourages farmers.
It further appealed the underground factions to refrain from collecting tax on local vegetables wholesalers at Murgi Patti, Dimapur.
Meanwhile, the Committee informed that cabbage harvested from Pfutsero area will be transported to Dimapur from Monday, June 12, onwards through November and in this regard, appealed to the various bodies to refrain from collecting tax for the welfare of the local farmers.
