Some of those who voted YES had this to say
• Yes. We have become lazy and our food habits are very unhealthy. Our forefathers were very active and their diet was very well balanced. Today, we eat more than we exercise. SO many young people are dying without any sickness, but due to heart failure.
• Yes. Isn't this the only logical explanation. We are losing a lot of people who are dying much before their time. On many of these occasions we are unable to explain the cause because there is no postmortem, but it is suspected to be due to heart diseases.
• Yes because of our life style we are getting lot of such diseases our body always need proper exercise to be stable we are too much dependent to the modern technology without using our physical strengths.
• Yes, we lead very unhealthy lives. We have so many schools but unfortunately our schools are not paying enough attention to physical well being. There is too much focus on studies, but not on sports. The government should insist that schools spend equal time on both studies and on sports.
• Yes. The number of obese children in our schools are increasing. Too much fast food. Not healthy.
Some of those who voted NO had this to say
• No. I think it is more so because of our unhealthy food habits.
• No. Heart disease in Nagaland is caused by inactiveness of Naga Government.
Some of those who voted OTHERS had this to say
• This may be the case in urban areas. But how does one explain when it concerns rural areas? Our fermenting and smoked culinary could be the cause of it.
• We have so many schools that claim to give quality education. But they are neglecting sports and other physical activities. Most of the schools don’t even have proper playgrounds and other sporting facilities. Isnt it mandatory for CBSE schools to provide sporting infrastructures as well?
• There are so many things that are unhealthy in our state these days. I am sure lots of people are suffering from hypertension because of no salary, the condition of our roads etc. Our food habits are also not very healthy. We also have a sizable population that is abusing alcohol and other substances, all this could be contributing to our sorry state of health. Something radical must be done to reverse this.
• The lifestyle in our state is rapidly changing. We now have fastfood chains invading our towns. All this is having adverse effects on our physical and mental wellbeing. Nagas at one time were very proud to be physically fit, but we cannot say the same anymore.
