Do you feel the Nagaland government is doing enough to fight rising crime?

Some of those who voted  YES had this to say:
•    Yes, maybe, but the more they try the more these criminals get tougher and skillful. If our society comprises of only Nagas, it will be easy to control crime and criminals, but remember 60% of the crimes in Dimapur involves non-local and business related. So one could imagine who could be behind all these crimes. Better check the breeding places of criminals, then things will be better.
•    Yes they are :@:@ but they don’t know that the breeding place is they themselves remote controlled by the unscrupulous people pouring in daily in the form of angels and corrupting them and every innocent Nagas. And we poor innocent Naga citizens..we are just blaming amongst ourself and warring between each other. What a crazy world we are living in.. our future is very dark over shadowed by unbelievers …so sad. If the non Naga communities cooperate with us and the authorities, I am sure we can clean up all the mess and controlling crime would be easier.
•    Ya, its our government that’s making our state a better place to live in.
•    Yes, government is doing enough. How can we always blame our government. How about our sema leaders, church leaders, hoho leaders and student leaders. Our sema leaders must control our people because all this bad crime are doing by our people.
•    Coz their priority is Political vengeance and it becomes natural to forget the offspring when the big Dad and Mom fumes against each other

Some of those who voted NO  had this to say:
•    Government does not have a definite policy to control crime. policy to Control crime needs a thorough study on the nature of crime, its factor in relation to the society. Criminologist advice should be taken if the govt. is serious.
•    It not about feeling but its a serious concerned. State govt. Should take serious note on criminal because its beginning only, worse yet to come otherwise innocents public going to suffer
•    Word without heart and action is death.
•    What our govt? No, no. How can it fight against itself. One must clear the dirt from his own eye to clear out other’s dirt.
•    The government timidly follows the lead of the UGs and civil societies. And it lacks political will to fight crime.
•    Not whole heartedly.
•    When public servants are busy looting the State's Treasury, where is the time and focus to fight other crimes.
•    rather they are playin blame game. police blaming judiciary, public blaming the police, police etc but the system need to change, until a separete crime investigation branch  is not set up, the police engaged with law and order duty cannot be expected to devout time for investigating crime and prosecute the culprit before the court. many times in nagaland  accused have to go scot free due to lack of evidence and one cannot blame the court for that.
•    Our govt is nothing they are just allowing it to happen before their two big eyes gifted by God to see no evil. They just ignore it. One small true fact – a govt. servant whose duty was to stop others from doing so, was doing by himself and threatening others. This made it clear that our govt d (deaf and blind) oopps tongue slip. They are fighting against it by doing it themselves so that we wont commit it. What a hard working govt we have.
•    One fights against it with the help of wine and arms and the other escapes using his head and it is found out that head is more better than wine and arms because it is the head that formed the two. But sometimes it gets trapped in his own net, so I think both are super, no inequality.
•    Our govt is pure in heart. It does not know what is crime. It knows only how to fill its beautiful big stomach and just as a small child it does not know its duty. I wonder when our sleeping beauty will wake up and save us like shikari shambu.
•    Most of the government officials are just filling their pockets and that's all. There is no development, but of course development in the crime rate. They just care for themselves.
•    first you n i change then think of changing others..

Some of those who voted OTHERS had this to say:
•    Lets be honest about this. The politicians and bureaucrats dont care at all. They are protected by so many bodyguards that they will not know how the common man suffers. Unless they themselves feel the pinch, the govt will remain immune so such problems.
•    The protracted Naga issue has to be resolved otherwise, the criminals and gangs are only prospering from this unstable situation. Most of the crimes are committed by petty criminals, but they keep blaming the UG groups and it becomes very convenient as well for the police to pass on the buck. There is no real investigation. The leaders of the UGs must also know that criminal minds have also entered their organization in the guise of freedom fighters. They should be rooted out completely.
•    Until & unless the police individuals adopt (discipline) (responsibility) and not chew tamol while on duty.
•    If the focal point for all the ever-growing serious myriad crimes are occurring right here in our backyard, Dimapur City, then the Nagaland government does not even deserve the pass mark no matter how it puts on a brave face. On the other hand, no finger pointing but what about the law enforcement agency whose humble hands are tight by its lack of requisite infrastructures due to mismanagement, what about over dependently dormant Naga public and self-seeking legal fraternity with its dubious way. You name it.
•    The govt has not been entirely sincere about tackling crime. The police department has been less then efficient. The daring IRB are nothing more than putting up a good show with their kaki camouflage and their antics. Most of the it’s the new breed of young police officers who have lost touch with the public. As long as the police officers are disconnected from the public, it will be very difficult for them to be effective in their work. Most of these young cops are full of air and are arrogant to the bone and have no courtesy that cops are expected to have. There is no sense of humbleness at all. They have failed as police officers and this is the reason why they are facing difficulties in solving cases.
