Kohima, June 28 (MExN): Minister of Health & Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom has called for ‘dedication, transparency and accountability in the service to humanity’ while speaking at the inaugural function of the Annual General Body Meeting of the Nagaland In-Service Doctors’ Association (NIDA) held at the Capital Convention Centre, Kohima on June 28.
The Minister said that the Program Officers at the Department should work towards the welfare of those who are posted in hard to reach interior areas of the State. He stressed on the need for commitment on the sincere implementation of the Service Rule that was presented during the function.
Speaking at the meeting, Commissioner & Secretary, DoH&FW, I. Himato Zhimomi appealed to the members present to re-dedicate themselves and work selflessly and prioritise their time towards serving the humanity.
Dr. Meguosielie Kire, Principal Director, DoH&FW exhorted the members for active participation in such kind of forum and also appreciated all for working relentlessly towards amendment of the new Service Rule. He added that the new Service Rule will give equal opportunity to all the Doctors in the State.
Dr. Khriezotuo Paphino, present President, NIDA highlighted on the newly implemented Service Rule of the Department which was coined with an objective to give fair and equal opportunity to all NIDA members. He also mentioned about the Cadre Review which have been processed to the Government for approval and implementation. Dr. Khriezotuo again urged the members present to work with dedication towards attaining the Motto of NIDA which is, ‘Service to Humanity.’
Dr. Imotemsu, General Secretary, NIDA gave an action taken report on the Decisions made on the previous GBM held on December 2017 and Dr.Joel Koza, Treasurer, NIDA also presented the financial report of NIDA. The house also observed one minute silence in respect of the doctors who had expired during the current year.
The newly elected NIDA executives are President-Dr. Ritu Thur, Vice President- Dr. Akum Jamir, Secretary- Dr. Ahu Sekhose, General Secretary- Dr. John Kemp, Joint Secretary- Dr. Khelito, Treasurer- Dr. Neisakho, Advisors- Dr. Khriezotuo Paphino, Dr. Akuo Sorhie and Dr. Kikameren Longkumer.
The inaugural programme was chaired by Dr. Vibeituonuo Mepfuo, Secretary, NIDA and vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Obangjungla, Jt. Secretary, NIDA. This is followed by the Business Session where discussion was held on the review of the previous GBM Resolution, Updates on the Nagaland Medical College, Cadre Review & Health Unit Categorisation and Election of New NIDA Executives.
