Doctors laud government on amalgamation, new service rule

DIMAPUR, AUGust 8 (MExN): The Nagaland Medical Graduate Association (NMGA) and the Nagaland In-service Specialist Doctors Association (NISDA) thanked the government of Nagaland for the Cabinet decision taken on August 4, according to the demands of the associations by amalgamating the departments into a unified service.

A joint press communiqué issued by Dr T.L Nakhro, President NMGA, Dr Nephi Kire, President NISDA, Dr Khanlo Magh, General Secretary, NMGA and Dr Hotokhu Chishi, General Secretary NISDA expressed gratitude.

Both associations expressed gratitude and appreciation to all the doctors who have paved the way for amalgamation of the two Directorates by sacrificing their seniority for common good. “We fully endorse their sacrifice and their commitment for a better health-care delivery system in the State”, it stated.

The medical fraternity also extended gratitude to the government of Nagaland under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and his cabinet Ministers for solving the long standing issue in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, it stated and acknowledged the initiative and contribution taken by Dr TM Lotha, Minister while also appreciating Imkonglemba (IAS), Secretary for his vision and untiring effort in bringing about a new service rule within such a short span of time.

“We are also indebted to the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Chairman, High Power Committee, Finance, P & AR and Law Department for their approval”, it stated.

The doctors stated that it was now their commitment to work for the health welfare of the people through mutual respect and co-ordination and to deliver better health care delivery system to the community.
