Officials with cultural troupes during documentation program on “The Living Morung and Traditional Knowledge” at Yakor on February 18.
Kohima, February 19 (MExN): The Department of Art & Culture, Government of Nagaland, organised a documentation program under the theme “The Living Morung and Traditional Knowledge” at Yakor village, Shamator on February 18.
A workshop on “Traditional Craft and Weaving” was conducted as part of the event. The programme was graced by J Kiumukam, Head GB of Yakor Village in the presence of village council chairman and other frontal organizations.
The programme was chaired by Kiumukam, Assistant Curator while inaugural address was delivered by Teisovikuolie Therie, Deputy Director, Department of Art & Culture, Nagaland.
The resource persons of the programme included;. L Tohanba, S Yanhola, S Hanji, S Perimong, T Rethsong and Z Toshila. T Yurahamong, narrated the significance of the Morung while Shokheamong shared the history of Yakor Village.
The programme witnessed cultural performances from Throngtsa Cultural Society and Sangpuntong Cultural Society. It also included interactive discussions and experience-sharing sessions with youths and elders of Yakor Village.
Appreciation certificates were distributed by Teisovikuolie Therie while vote of thanks was delivered by Kiumukam.
