DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 6 (MExN): The Directorate of Higher Education today issued a statement with details on the latest payment status of Post Matric scholarship for ST students of Nagaland.
A press note from the Additional Director of Higher Education informed that the Scheme Implementing Agency has received three installments from the Funding Agency i.e. Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
Out of the total amount received in three instalments i.e. Rs 38,14,37,000, the directorate stated that only Rs.38,14,07,295 could be utilised in making necessary payment of Post Matric Scholarship to 32749 ST students beneficiaries for the year 2016-2017 period, for which it was sanctioned. The remaining balance amount of Rs. 29,705 shall be adjusted in the final phase/ instalment payment, it informed.
The directorate meanwhile informed that the State Government is yet to receive Rs 7,71,73,310 in making necessary scholarship payment to 11335 ST deserving students of Nagaland for the year 2016-17. “As soon as the Ministry releases the Amount, the implementing Agency shall do the necessary payment to the remaining deserving students,” it assured.
The directorate meanwhile informed that the list of beneficiaries and the amount credited into students account is available in the Directorate’s website .i.e. highereducationnagaland.gov.in. Students who are availing the said scheme or schemes that are being implemented by the said Department may call the office for any clarification and doubt during the office hour.
