KOHIMA, JUNE 1 (MExN): Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS), Kohima, celebrated its Annual Flower Show 2025 on May 30 with the theme “Bloom With Purpose,” turning its school auditorium into a vivid tapestry of color, creativity, and environmental consciousness.

The event was graced by T. Amenla, District Horticulture Officer of Tseminyu, as the Special Guest. In her address, she applauded the school’s efforts in encouraging students to engage with horticulture, creativity, and environmental awareness. “The Annual Flower Show is not merely a celebration of beauty and nature; it is a powerful platform for aesthetic and environmental appreciation,” she said, adding that such programs nurture responsibility and purpose among students.

The programme began with a Scripture reading by Himatoli Sheqi of Class 12 Science A and a prayer led by Fr. Dr. Mattam Xavier, SDB, Rector of Don Bosco Kohima. Fr. Innocent, SDB, Principal of the school, welcomed the gathering and underscored the importance of the flower show as a space for environmental education and creative exploration.

The highlight of the event was the diverse and imaginative range of student exhibits, from dry flower arrangements, fresh floral displays, and potted plants to intricate fruit and vegetable carvings and lush greenery. Each class was given a dedicated space to showcase their contributions, resulting in an auditorium blooming with expression and intent.

A special performance was presented by Kathleen of Class 3A, while Vikesono of Class 9B delivered a reflection on the theme. Ato delivered the vote of thanks, and the event concluded with the singing of the school anthem and the official declaration and ribbon cutting of the Flower Show 2025.
