NSUD successfully conduct Blood Donation Camp exclusively for Nagas in Delhi

Dimapur, June 24 (MExN): A blood donation camp was organized by the Naga Students’ Union, Delhi (NSUD) in collaboration with Helping Hands, NGO with a theme ‘Donate Blood, Save Life’ exclusively for the Nagas in Delhi at AIIMS hospital, New Delhi on June 23.  

NSUD General Secretary, Mathiuchunbou Rimai stated in a press release that more than hundred donors irrespective of different tribes and communities, seniors, social worker and students came forward to donate blood and continued till late evening.  

“The main purpose of Blood Donation Camp was to provide instant blood to the Naga patient since many a time people struggled to get blood donors. Since the last few years, the Union have experienced more patient from home came for a treatment in Delhi where the blood donors have to eventually accrue from students and working members residing in Delhi and NCR. Nevertheless, through this noble gesture the union assured that for at-least a year the basic requirement and immediate needs of Nagas young and old will be met and fulfilled,” the general secretary added.  

It was also informed that this is the second phase that the NSUD is organizing blood donation camp. Any Naga patient in Delhi is entitled to avail the facility by approaching the Union.  

G Robin Hibu IPS, Chairman Helping Hands, NGO while interacting the donors stated that, “you are saving poor and needy people’s life.” He encouraged the youths to continue humanity service. He further shared that “no Northeast patients die for wants of blood in any hospitals of Delhi.”  

S. Pangnyu. Phom, Minister Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland who sponsored the camp stated that health is the priority and Blood Donation Camp should make institutionalize. While interacting with the members of the NSUD, the Minister emphasized on the unity of Nagas in Delhi and assured that special provision for the poor Naga patient and ambulance for emergency case shall be considered in Capital city.  

The Ao and DENSU organization also joined hand in coordinating the Blood Donation Camp. The NSUD has expressed gratitude to HoD AIIMS Blood Bank, New Delhi for their assistance. The Union also acknowledged S Pangnyu Phom, Minister Health & Family Welfare for his encouragement and the support.
