The All Nagaland Government Drivers’ Union has appealed to all its members not to allow unauthorized person or their officers’ children to drive the government vehicles, to obey traffic rules and not to harass the public by unruly driving. The Association president Apa Kin and general secretary Imkongliba said that the government vehicles can be driven only by the driver as all officers have been allotted with a driver each. Hence, the vehicles should not be driven by the officers themselves while the driver are present, it stated.
Government drivers have also been appealed to the public to obey driving rules, to shun driving in inebriated condition, not to wear slippers while driving, smoke or use drugs, and not to put on sunglasseswhile on duty. ANGDA also appealed to all officers not to harass the drivers on duty.
