DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 28 (MExN): Nagaland Governor, PB Acharya today inaugurated the Longwa Chief Angh's residence and Tourism Guest House at Longwa village with MP to the Lok Sabha Neiphiu Rio as the guest of honour. According to a press note from the PRO to the Governor, Acharya stated, “We should not forget our fellow Naga brothers from Myanmar and Arunachal Pradesh, but should stay in unity and peace.” He called for peaceful coexistence and harmony with neighbors as most of the North East share an international border and if the states are in peace then India is in peace. He also urged the people to respect the diversity of India and to be proud. In this regard, he requested the people to respect one's own native tongue. The Governor meanwhile stated that the central government has provided many schemes but lamented that these schemes are not reaching the beneficiaries. Such corruption should be stopped, he stated, and urged leaders to change their mindset. MP Neiphiu Rio, who has adopted Longwa village, stated that “even if Nagas stay in Myanmar or Arunachal Pradesh or Nagaland, Nagas are one family and its symbol lies in Longwa village, which is historically laid inside the middle of the Angh's residence, with Myanmar to its left and India to its right.” He informed that it took 9 months to complete the house, which was the result of unity between the village council and other departments. We need to promote our culture and tradition while working towards making Longwa a model village for development and progress, he stated. Tonyei Phawang, Chief Angh, Longwa village was the chief host, Pohwang, MLA was the co-host and MLAs from Myanmar and Arunachal Pradesh were special guests during the event.
