Don’t hamper Foothill Road construction: LHD

DIMAPUR, MARCH 9 (MExN): The Lotha Hoho Dimapur (LHD), at an emergency meeting on March 8, opined that the joint efforts of the Nagaland Foot Hills Road Construction Committee and the Department of Road & Bridges “should not be hampered or disturbed in any manner.” A press note from the LHD expressed concern at the “undesirable exposure of dwindling unity and vested interests being published in local media over the ongoing construction of the Nagaland Foot Hills Road construction.”

It stated that “having taken untold hardship to materialize the long standing need for an alternative road for general traveling convenience and economic growth into a reality, the Nagaland Foot Hills Road construction development has come up thus far.” It added that this feat “deserves appreciation and support.”

Acknowledging the “sincere initiatives spearheaded by the NFHRCC to overcome the multi faced problems obstructing the construction of the Nagaland Foot Hills Road for decades,” the LHD appeal to all concerned and the denizens of Wokha District in particular, “to shun any form of recalcitrant attitudes that could inhibit the progress of the referred ongoing road construction and tarnishing the image of Kyong/Lotha on the other.”  The LHD stated that the “selfless service and contributions of the NFHRCC members, representing the Lotha community, are acknowledged” and assured that their “security and self respect in every social front shall be safeguarded.”
