DoSE reiterates compliance on school bag weight

Kohima, February 27 (MExN): The Directorate of School Education (DoSE), in pursuance of directions issued by the National Human Rights Commission regarding regulation of the weight of students’ school bags, has reiterated that all school managements, both government and private, must comply with directives issued by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) dated July 19, 2021. 

The Directorate stated that the guidelines must be followed in letter and spirit by all concerned. It further directed that wherever textbooks have been prescribed by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Nagaland or the NBSE, only those books shall be used for conducting teaching-learning activities in schools. 

Incidents of non-adherence may be reported to the concerned SDEOs, Sr SDEOs or DEOs for necessary action. If the issues are not addressed by these officers, the matter may be reported to the Principal Director, DoSE, Nagaland, Kohima for redressal.
