Dimapur, August 2 (MExN): Dimapur Press Club (DPC) has express shock to learn that two members of Dimapur press fraternity were robbed of their valuables and cash by two unknown miscreants on Saturday night when they were going home after their work.
A press note issued by DPC condemns the perpetrators of the crime, who posed themselves as members of a certain faction of Naga political groups and stated that this is not an isolated incident when individuals or groups have targeted members of the press, but the press fraternity continues to serve the people, without any security being provided to them. Such incidents of uncivilized nature should be condemned by all right thinking citizens of the state.
The DPC in the note appeals to the law enforcing agencies to step up their vigil, especially at night when such miscreants move around freely and target people. The DPC also urged the law enforcing agencies to take the present case with all seriousness and bring to book the culprits involved in the robbery. At the same time, the Press Club would also like to request the state Government to ensure proper security to the media persons of state.
