Kohima, October 15 (DIPR): The monthly meeting of Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held on October 15, chaired by Kohima Deputy Commissioner and DPDB Vice Chairman, Rovilatuo Mor.
On DPDB yearlong activities, SDO (C) Development, Neilezo Tep and SDO (C) Sadar, Kethosituo Sekhose shared the activities and achievements made by the Committees. In this regard, the DC reminded all Adoption Committees to wind up their activities and submit their final activities reports within the extended time frame, i.e., November 15, 2016.
Further, the Board decided to take up the DPDB yearlong activities coinciding with the financial year. The Board also decided to take up the issue of theft in NHAK with the Police Department.
Principal of Kohima Science College, Dr. Aier highlighted the reason for the proposal of delinking Higher Secondary section from the college. In this regard, the Board decided to approve the matter considering the infrastructural and academic problems shared by the principal.
Pertaining to a proposal for opening of new Arts College in Kohima under Rural Development Trust Society, the meeting decided to agree with the projecting site of the new college. The Board however decided not to agree on the present temporary site proposed by the applicant keeping in view the traffic congestion in that particular area.
The DC also informed all the Agri & Allied Departments and other line development departments to note that the Disha committee quarterly meeting will be held in the 3th week of October 2016 and further asked the members of the committee to collect the data of the flagship programme under their respective departments and furnish it in the given format during the meeting.
On the ‘Energy Efficient Kohima’, the DC informed that the implementation of LED bulb was introduced last month. He informed that large scale of LED tube, ceiling fan, bulb will be shortly launched for Kohima Town and Kohima Village and there is a plan to cover surrounding villages under the district.
