DPDB meeting held in Zunheboto, Wokha

Zunheboto, October 14 (DIPR): The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meetings of Zunheboto and Wokha were held on October 13 in the Deputy Commissioner’s conference halls of the respective districts.   In Zunheboto, Assistant Planning Officer (APO), David Achumi informed the board that bifurcation of Aghunato/ Tokiye Block and creation of Town Council/ Urban Station Committee at Satakha is under process.  

Meanwhile, DPO, DAPCU highlighted the present scenario of HIV/AIDS status in the district. DPO also requested various departments like Industries and Commerce, Social Welfare, Animal Husbandry and Food and Civil Supplies to help people living with HIV/AIDS as most of the victims are from below poverty line.  

The meeting also approved construction of waiting shed at Zunheboto Government College (ZGC).  

Deputy Commissioner, T. Roy, who chaired the meeting, also welcomed EAC Probationers, Sakuchingmak and Wiridin Zeliang and asked all HoDs to cooperate with two NCS officers in their administrative duties.  

District Agricultural Officer (DAO), Kivikhu Achumi deliberated on poor BSNL network in the district and the telecom officials were asked to report in the next meeting. With regard to Aadhaar enrolment problem being faced by students for various purposes, the DC stated that Census department will be opening Aadhaar Centres in all administrative centres within the district.  

The meeting in Wokha discussed the landslide/road blockage at Pangtong/Serika area of the district. The ADC, Thavaseelan (IAS), who chaired the meeting, informed that since August the road has been cut off due to flood and landslides. He told the board that a meeting with the line department will be held to discuss the issue. With regard to registration of Von-Jen School of Music, Wokha, the board endorsed the same to the department concerned for examination to be discussed in the next DPDB meeting. Proposal for introduction of new subjects, namely Geography, Science and Commerce stream presented by Principal of Mt. Tiyi College was recommended to higher authority for approval. PowerPoint was presented by Department of Art and Culture. The chairperson informed all departments to submit the vehicle registration numbers along with the names of the drivers attached to them at the earliest.
