Mon/Kohima, October 16 (DIPR): The monthly District Planning and Development Board meetings of Mon and Kohima took place on October 16 in their respective district headquarters.
Mon: In Mon, the meeting deliberated on District Vision 2022 with special focus on education, health, infrastructures, and food security. In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairperson of DPDB Mon, Honje Konyak requested all the departments to prepare and bring the vision in the next meeting.
The meeting which was held at the DC conference hall also approved the registration of Konyak Heritage Management Board (KHMB). The house further discussed on the inter-departmental tournament of Mon district which is scheduled to be held on November 9-10. All the departments were asked to participate in the tournament without fail.
The Chief Medical Officer’s office led by Dr. Supongmenla Walling, DPO (RCH and UIP), Mon gave PowerPoint presentation on the topic ‘Awareness on Iodine Deficiency Disorder’.
Kohima: At the DPDB meeting held at DPDB conference hall, Kohima, DC Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan made an obituary reference on the death of a board member, Kiyanalie Peseyie, MLA from 8th Western Angami constituency, who passed away on September 27.
Citing a brief note on the life of Kiyanilie, the DC said his death was a great loss for the members. The MLA made immense contribution to the DPDB members in particular and the state in general, he stated. The board also observed one minute silence. On behalf of the DPDB members, the DC conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members.
Meanwhile, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) Administrator, Kethosituo Sekhose in his presentation of the departmental activities stated that KMC has been providing public transport under the JnNURM Project, cesspool service since 2003, water tanker service, JCB, free and pay and use toilets, garbage collection vehicles (free and on hire), dog pound, market sheds for footpath vendors.
KMC, he added, has distributed about 24,800 dust bins, push carts to rag pickers, and sanitary gears and equipments. He informed that sanitation fee will be raised to Rs. 70 from Rs. 50 by April 2018 to enhance the new equipments. New collection vehicles will be distributed to all the 19 wards under SIPMIU and also tipping vehicles, it was informed. The KMC Administrator appealed to the citizens to cooperate and help the KMC to keep the city clean and healthy.
Assistant Chief Technology Officer, Krishi Vigyan Kendra also highlighted the departmental activities.
