DPDB Wokha for ‘resumption to extract oil’

Wokha, January 21 (DIPR): The monthly Wokha District Planning & Development Board meeting for month of January 2011 was held on January 11 at DC’s conference Hall. Parliamentary Secretary for Home Guards & Prison Fire & Emergency Services and Chairman DPDB Wokha chaired the meeting. Deputy Speaker NLA, Ralanthung Yanthan also attended the meeting.
In the meeting the following agendas were discussed and resolved as follows: In regard to the revival of changpang oil field for extraction of crude oil, the board keeping in view of the environmental disaster caused by oil leakage and loss of royalty has resolved to request the Government to take up necessary steps for immediate resumption to extract oil with a proper MOU signed by both the parties.
Reviewing the last meeting minutes, Chief Medical Officer and EE PHE informed the board that proposals have been put up for approval for opening of Medical Sub-Centre and Water Supply at New Wokha Village. The board strongly recommended for maintenance of road from Mokokchung to Dimapur via Doyang, Sanis. E.E. R&B Baghty division also informed the board that some projects under Baghty division are being looked after by Dimapur division, where the board resolved to request the concern department to hand over/transfer the projects to Baghty Division for proper supervision and execution of works. The board also resolved to issue necessary order for replacement of ordinary bulbs with CFL bulbs in all government Offices HODs residents and shops.
With regard to the proposal for road connectivity in lower range put up by the chairman DPDB Wokha, the board requested the ADC Bhandari assisted by E.E. R&B Baghty Division and EACs of the area to draw a road map of rural connectivity and submit the same in the next meeting. The proposal put up by the Deputy Speaker NLA with regard to the status report and maintenance of Wokha Bokajan road, the Deputy Speaker requested the E.E. R&B to submit report on the lists of Staffs, technicians involved and funds received for maintenance of the road in the next meeting.
The Deputy Speaker also requested the Administrator Wokha Town Council to submit the report on revenue collection, staffs involved in the next DPDB meeting. He also requested the Administrator to issue necessary directive to the shop owners to keep their shops clean and put up proper sign boards and to compulsorily keep dust pin. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the chairman.
