
DIMAPUR, JUNE 4 (MExN): A group of regional leaders from Mokokchung District held a meeting on May 28 and decided to join the newly formed Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) en bloc “to uphold the relevance of regionalism and appeals of nationalism.” A press note from the Sessional Chairman, Imtiyanger and Sessional Secretary, Mayangnungba informed that the members dwelt on the prevailing political scenario of the state vis-a-vis the Indo-Naga Political dialogue and recognized the “yearning of the people for a new platform, a responsible dispensation to steer the helm of affairs of the state, conducive atmosphere for peace and progress, inclusive policy on development and equal representation.” Those who attended the meeting included representatives from 21 TuliA/C, 22 ArkakongA/C, 23 ImpurA/C, 24 Angetyongpang A/C, Mongkoya A/C, 26 Aonglenden A/C, 27 Mokokchung Town A/C, 28 Koridang A/C, 29 Jangpetkong A/Cand 30 Aoongtaki A/C.
