The new building of the District Public Relations Office (DPRO) Mokokchung was inaugurated today by the Parliamentary secretary for Information and Public Relations (IPR), Khekaho Assumi with the presence of T. Ao, IAS, Secretary IPR, Nagaland, and Pasui Zeliang, Director IPR, Nagaland and the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung.
The dedicatory prayer for the new building was pronounced by Rev. Ponen Longchar, Pastor MTBA which was followed by the inaugural plaque was unveiled by the Parliamentary secretary IPR, Nagaland.
In the formal inauguration programme, the chief guest congratulated the department for the new building and encouraged the department to have new thoughts along with the new building and to be fearless and bold reporters. He added that the IPR department was to give information to the people and keep them aware of the various policies and programmes of the government and if they fail to give adequate information, they are not fulfilling their duties. He also said that the people may not give much importance to the IPR department, but if it stands with the truth, it will be a department which everyone will rely on and even fear.
Short speeches were delivered by Secretary IPR, T. Ao, IAS, Director IPR Pausui Zeliang, Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS, President Mokokchung Press Club Limalenden and President Ao Senden, Imolemba.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Chuba Walling, DPRO, Mokokchung.
