Wokha, December 8 (MExN): The staff of District Public Relations Office, Wokha, celebrated Pre-Christmas-cum-Picnic celebration on December 8 at the Doyang riverside, bringing together staff members for a day of reflection, gratitude, and festive cheer.

The programme was chaired by Information Assistant Phyochanbemo R Ngullie and featured brief speeches from UDA Misano Shitiri, UDA John Mozhui, and Senior Photographer Chanchio Ngullie.

District Public Relations Officer Lolano Patton, in her address, highlighted the deeper meaning of the season, reminding the team that Christmas is not only a time of celebration but also a call to embrace hope, humility, and kindness, even in the midst of official responsibilities. “Even in our busy work lives, these values help us stay humane and grounded,” she shared.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude, she acknowledged the department’s collective efforts throughout the year, especially during major events such as the Banana Festival 2025, the Soyabean Festival, and the Departmental Sports held in November. She emphasised that government service thrives not on individual effort alone, but through shared commitment, patience, and cooperation.

“Our work goes beyond files and procedures it is about serving people with sincerity and integrity,” she said, encouraging the team to continue building public trust through everyday acts of responsibility.

She likened the picnic to a family gathering, underscoring the importance of mutual respect, teamwork, and small gestures that strengthen the department as a whole. “Just like today’s picnic, our office functions best when we support one another and communicate with kindness,” she added.

As the year draws to a close, the DPRO encouraged everyone to reflect on their journey what went well, what could be improved and to enter the new year with renewed purpose. “Let us work smarter, not just harder,” she said.

In her closing message, she wished peace, good health, and success to all the staff and their families, adding, “May the spirit of this season guide us not only in celebration, but also in our responsibility and service.”
