DPS Dimapur athletes celebrate their victories at the CBSE Cluster-1 Sports Meet, Guwahati.
Guwahati, September 16 (MExN): Delhi Public School (DPS) Dimapur emerged as a dominant force at the CBSE Cluster-1 (North-East) Volleyball Tournament and Athletic Meet, held at SBOA School and South Point School in Guwahati from September 12 to 14. Competing against 28 schools in volleyball and 35 schools in athletics, DPS Dimapur showcased outstanding performances, marking a new chapter of success.
In volleyball, the girls’ team secured third place in both the Under-19 and Under-14 categories, demonstrating remarkable teamwork and resilience.
The school’s athletes also excelled on the track and field, standing out in multiple events. In the Under-19 category, Sosemer Aier and Ronem Jamir took the top positions in the discus throw, with Aier also claiming victory in the 100-meter race. The boys’ and girls’ 4x100 meter relay teams, comprising Kevisevor Metha, Niku H. Wokhami, Kvusalo Khing, Sosemer Aier, Ronem Jamir, Keneikunu Natso, Vievie Ladu, and Topeni K. Zhimo, both secured first place.
In addition, Kvusalo Khing earned second place in the Under-19 javelin throw and third in the 200-meter race. Meanwhile, in the Under-14 category, Enapumi Chewang claimed the top spot in shot put, while Canna Awomi and Hinato Achumi placed second and third, respectively, in long jump.
With an impressive haul of gold, silver, and bronze medals, DPS Dimapur reaffirmed its commitment to sporting excellence. The athletes, having secured first and second positions, are now set to compete in the national-level CBSE events in Varanasi from October 6-10.
