Akshita Vats and Supriya Dutta from DPS Dimapur were selected for National finals of ‘Incredible Premier League School Quiz.’
Dimapur, May 26 (MExN): Two students from Delhi Public School (DPS) Dimapur, namely, Akshita Vats and Supriya Dutta of Class XII were selected for the National finals of ‘Incredible Premier League School Quiz.’
The National finals took place on May 19 in the Star Sports studio in Mumbai, and was broadcasted on the national channels and Star Sports, stated a press release received here.
The ‘Incredible IPL School Quiz’ is a brand-new initiative launched by Star Sports, the official TV broadcasters of the TATA IPL 2023, in association with Fit India. The quiz received an overwhelming response, with over 2 lakh student entries and participation from 10000+ schools across the country. From 40 teams selected in the zonal rounds, only 8 teams from across the country advanced to the finals. Among them, Delhi Public School, Dimapur proudly represented the East Zone and became the only school from the North East to secure a spot in the prestigious finals.
Akshita Vats and Supriya Dutta were mentored by the legendary former India all-rounder, Yusuf Pathan, and had the privilege of meeting other renowned cricketing icons such as Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, and S.Sreesanth. They also received a t-shirt and a cricket bat autographed by their mentor.
“The journey of DPS Dimapur in the ‘Incredible IPL School Quiz’ has been nothing short of remarkable. Their qualification for the national finals not only brings pride to their school but also serves as a source of inspiration for students in the North East region,” the release added.
