Kohima, April 2 (MExN): Following the retirement of three senior officers of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Nagaland, Additional Director Dr Aomangyang Walling today assumed office as the Head of Department.
The three senior most officers of the Department – Director Dr IP Khala, Additional Director Dr Rongsentemjen Ao and Additional Director Dr Viral Yore – on their retirement were accorded farewell on March 31 at the Directorate conference hall in Kohima.
Acknowledging the services rendered by the three officers on behalf of the State government, Commissioner & Secretary, MK Mero congratulated them for completing 35 years of service without any stigma or blemish.
He expressed that the retirement of the three senior most officers together may cause a vacuum, but was confident that younger doctors led by incoming HoD Dr Walling can take up the challenge in guiding the department forward.
He encouraged the officers and staff of the department to have more cohesion within different sectors in the department and the districts using the various technologies that are available now and also to abreast themselves with the innovative programs being introduced.
Speeches were also delivered on behalf of the AH&VS officers by Joint Director Dr L Temsu, on behalf of the districts by CVO Phek Dr Weprenyi Mero, Nagaland Veterinary Association – Dr Ilang, NVFAA – B Imlier Jamir and ministerial staff – registrar Zapori.
The outgoing officers also delivered short speeches, while Dr Neikeyielie Theunuo tendered the vote of thanks.
