
KOHIMA, MARCH 2 (MExN): The Nagaland Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has nominated Dr Chumben Murry as the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) consensus candidate to contest for the lone Lok Sabha seat of Nagaland. This was announced during the NDPP Parliamentary Board meeting held on March 2 at Kohima.
Informing this, a press statement issued by NDPP media and communication committee appealed to all section of the people and all the political parties to continue to extend support to the PDA government and its consensus candidate in the forthcoming election.
The Board, meanwhile, expressed its appreciation to all the political parties and leaders who are part of the opposition-less government and are extending support to the leadership of the Chief Minister and the PDA Government. It also extended its appreciation to the Alliance Partner, the BJP under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Home Minister Amit Shah and the National BJP President JP Nadda for the support extended to the PDA Government and maintaining the positive spirit of the Alliance.
The Board also appreciated the Chief Minister for the “visionary State Budget that was recently passed in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.” The new initiatives and policy announcements of the budget is bound to have positive impact on the economy of the State and will especially be beneficial for the youth of Nagaland, it stated.
