69 general session of Sungratsü Senso Mungdang held

Parliamentary Secretary for Geology and Mining, Dr. Imtiwapang Aier on Thursday clarified why the eight Congress MLAs joined the DAN government. He disclosed that to support the Naga political issue and to bring an honourable solution at the earliest they joined the TR Zeliang led opposition-less government.
Dr. Aier conveyed this message during the 69 general session of the Sungratsü Senso Mungdang, held at Senden Salang , Sungratsü village under Mokokchung district.
Dr. Aier further disclosed that they participated in the government as Congress MLAs to strengthen the party and also to bring honourable solution for the Naga political issue. He, however, added that the induction into the Naga People’s Front-led DAN Government under the leadership of T R Zeliang came with suspension notice from the party which compelled them to a difficult situation to join the NPF.
The Parliamentary Secretary assured the people of Sungratsü a rostrum for the village. He also disclosed that he is initiating some central developmental projects for the range.
Main speaker L Bendang Lemtor (IPS) spoke on the topic “A Citizen rights and its duties”. He said that rights and duties are two sides of the same coin.
He pointed that people these days seek for more rights neglecting their shared duties for their society. “There is no free lunch in life. Rights will not be given in free… if rights are given then duty will follow with it,” Lemtor stated.
