Mokokchung, July 7 (MexN): The area adjoining the pond at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex in Mokokchung is soon to be turned into a park in honour of Nagaland’s first Chief Minister, P Shilu Ao. Initiated by the NPF Mokokchung Division, the park will be named ‘Dr. P. Shilu Ao Park’.
Convener of the Landscape Design Committee for the park, Tangit Imsong, has in this regard called upon interested individuals to design the park. Enthusiasts participating in designing may “send your designs on paper or CD with your full address and phone number,” the Convener informed. The best designer will receive a cash award of Rs.20,000. The last date for submission of the design shall be July 15, 2009, and till 3:00pm, he added. The design submitted for the competition shall automatically become the property of the organisers and they reserve the right to use the design in any which way deemed fit, it was informed.
The proposed area for the park is bounded by the Sports Stadium in the east, Mayangnokcha GHSS in the west, dam in the north, and the Youth Resources Office in the south.
