DIMAPUR, AUGUST 4 (MExN): TR Zeliang led NPF party on Friday issued a press release in order to “clarify” what it termed as “lies and misinformation spread by the minority group of the NPF party and the disputed and erstwhile NPF President Dr Surhozelie Liezietsu.”
In the first, the TR NPF party through press and media cell said contrary to allegations that the government led by Chief Minister TR Zeliang and Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio had opposed him, no member of the government did anything to oppose Dr Surhozelie or campaigned against him in the run up to the by election.
The TR NPF party also alleged that Dr Surhozelie completely misused his position as CM during the period of code of conduct by releasing funds and bills, issuing appointment orders, clearing illegal works order and looting public funds. All this activities and misuse of power will be investigated by the appropriate agencies of the government, the press release stated.
The press release also alleged that Dr Surhozelie exposed his deep nepotism and created history when he appointed his own son as an Advisor in cabinet status with portfolio despite resigning as MLA to prove way for his father. “All important appointments in the state government were only reserved for his own circle to ensure his election victory and protection of his chair,” it added.
Labeling Dr Surhozelie's president ship as “disputed and rejected,” the press release claimed that majority of the party is no longer with him but he continues to issue illegal orders till now.
“It is ridiculous that when an amnesty of 15 days was announced by him, he still continues to issue suspension and dissolution orders. On one hand he is announcing forgiveness and on the other hand he is suspending. He seems to be unable to give up his habit of lying and misinformation and misleading.”
