Chümoukedima, Niuland, Peren, and Zunheboto emerged victorious in the ongoing 23rdInter-District Football Championship, Dr T Ao Trophy 2024, at Loyem Memorial Astro Turf Ground, Tuensang Town.
In the first match, Chümoukedima defeated Dimapur 4-0, with goals from Ganchul (1st minute), Kikruzelie (3rd minute), Salang Wati (69t hminute), and Shurhosol (70+ extra time).
The second match saw Niuland prevail over Phek with a 4-2 win. Niuland’s goals were scored by KitoKiho (7th minute), Thulunso Yimchunger (10th minute), and Kakhevi Assumi, who netted twice (15th and 28th minutes). Phek’s Yhoto Lohe and Zacukho responded with goals in the 5th and 61st minutes.
In the third match, Peren defeated Shamator 3-1, with Kenumdi Siarau scoring a hat-trick in the 23rd, 30th, and 34th minutes. Shamator’s only goal came from Tsurito M in the 39th minute.
The final match of the day saw Zunheboto edge out Kohima 3-2. Zunheboto’s goals came from Inokivi (3rd minute), Vinoto (15th minute), and Ghuqhe (37th minute), while Kohima’s goals were scored by Neisede in the 20th and 55th minutes.
With the defeats, Chümoukedima, Dimapur, Shamator, Kohima, Longleng, and Kiphire are now out of the tournament. The final decision for Group D will be determined on Monday.
