MLA Kevipodi Sophie unveils KDFA jersey for Dr T Ao Trophy 2025 on July 30 in Kohima.

MLA Kevipodi Sophie today unveiled the jersey of the Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima for the upcoming Dr T. Ao Trophy 2025.

In his address, Sophie, who is convener of the Organising Committee of Dr. T. Ao Trophy 24th Inter-District Football Championship 2025, encouraged the players to strive for excellence and bring pride to Kohima district. He urged the team to give their best on the field and wished them success in the championship.

The new kit was officially launched by Sophie in the presence of MLA and Co-Convener Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, Deputy Commissioner of Kohima B. Henok Buchem, Superintendent of Police Kohima Teisovise Metha, Nagaland Football Association (NFA) President Neibou K Sekhose, members of the organising committee, KDFA officials and players.

The launching ceremony started with a prayer led by Pudil Tsükrü, KDFA executive member.

Dr T Ao Trophy, named in honour of Dr Talimeren Ao, the legendary Naga footballer and India’s first Olympic football captain, remains one of Nagaland’s most prestigious inter-district football tournaments.

The tournament, scheduled from August 1-15, is being organised by the NFA, hosted by KDFA and powered by the District planning and Development Board, Kohima.
