Zunheboto March 2 (MExN): DWSM, PHED, Zunheboto conducted National Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Mission awareness week in Zunheboto district from February 20 to 25. A press release from Executive Engineer Inashe Kiba, PHED Zunheboto informed that the awareness programme was launched by DC Zunheboto Akato L Sema.
Speaking at the launching programme, the DC highlighted the importance of water and sanitation, safe disposal of human excreta, liquid and solid waste management. He urged the students and NGOs to keep the toilets neat and clean and wash hands with soap after defecation and before meal for the safety of personal health.
Meanwhile, Dr Akaho Awomi spoke on ill effects of water borne diseases and its preventive measures and Atoli, JEO, DEO, Zunheboto spoke on health education.
