
Dimapur, December 11 (MExN): The Drug Control Administration Dimapur conducted a joint inspection of pharmacies in Jalukie Town in collaboration with members of the Peren District Voluntary Consumer Association (PDVCA). The inspection was initiated following concerns raised by PDVCA over the misuse of certain narcotic and psychotropic drugs in the area. During the operation, several pharmacies were booked for violations, and investigations are currently underway.
The President of PDVCA expressed gratitude to the Drug Control Administration for their prompt response. The Drug Control Administration Dimapur has announced that similar inspections will be conducted regularly to ensure compliance and curb misuse of restricted substances.
Additionally, the Drug Control Administration has issued a directive to wholesalers in Dimapur, warning against the sale of narcotic and psychotropic substances to licensed dealers without an Indent Certificate issued by the Drugs Controller Officer. Non-compliance may result in the cancellation of drug licences. The inspection team included Mar Temjen, Assistant Drug Controller; T. Zubemo Kikon, Drug Control Officer; Josiah Zeliang, President of PDVCA; and other PDVCA members.
