Drugs, arms seized in Zunheboto; Sümi Hoho commends police

Zunheboto, June 30 (MExN: The Sümi Hoho, the apex tribal council of the Sümi Naga community, today praised the Zunheboto Police for their sustained efforts in combating drug abuse and illegal activities in the district.

The commendation follows a successful police operation on June 29 that resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of psychotropic drugs, illicit liquor, unlicensed firearms, and cash. Sümi Hoho described the bust as a crucial step in “safeguarding the lives and future of our people, especially the youth.”

Dr Kupe Kapfo, Superintendent of Police, Zunheboto, was specially lauded for his leadership in the operation. The Sümi Hoho also acknowledged the contributions of SDPO HQ Wanom Wallim, Officer-in-Charge Anito Y Sema, and the Special Operations Team (SOT) for their coordinated efforts.

“The swift follow-up actions, leading to the arrest of individuals allegedly involved in drug trafficking and illegal arms possession, reflect the professionalism and effectiveness of our law enforcement agencies,” media cell of Sümi Hoho stated in its press note. 

The Sümi Hoho urged law enforcement to ensure that all those involved are dealt with firmly and that stringent action is taken as per the law so as to serve as a deterrent against such crimes in the future. It also appealed to citizens to support the administration's efforts to eliminate drug-related activities from society.
