In a case of drunk driving, one truck rammed a building in the wee hours of Sunday at the Tajen Ao Road, near the Clock Tower, in Dimapur. As per the police, an inebriated man was behind the wheel at the time of the accident.
The speeding truck swerved out of control, went over a side drain to ram an adjacent building, the police said. It also nudged an electric pole.
Fortunately, there were no pedestrians at the time and the shops in the building closed, which would have otherwise turned into a tragedy.
The unidentified inebriated driver and the truck was taken into custody by the Traffic police and handed over to the East Police Station for investigation.
