Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, MLA & Advisor, Department of School Education & SCERT and others at the DSU 75 years anniversary culmination program and Dapfhütsumia Day on December 14.

KOHIMA, DECEMBER 14 (MExN): The Dapfhütsumia Students’ Union commemorated its 75years Anniversary Culmination Program and Dapfhütsumia Day on December 14 at D. Khel Ground, Pusolieke. The event was honoured by the presence of Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, MLA & Advisor, Department of School Education & SCERT, as special guest.
On arrival of the special guest, a short ceremony was held to unveil the DSU 75th Anniversary monolith. This ceremony was led by Zakiebeilie Khezhie, Convenor, Monolith Committee and dedicatory prayer by Rev Khrieneilie Sachü, Senior Pastor, Baptist Revival Church, Kohima. The traditional horn was blown by Menuolekuo Kire after which the monolith was unveiled by the Special Guest.
Following this, the formal program commenced with an invocation led by Rev Viwelie Khezhie, Former Senior Pastor, Khedi Baptist Church. Mhasituo Kire, President of DSU delivered the welcome address and opening remarks. Subsequently, a message was conveyed by the Chairman of D. Khel Council, Pelesielie Khezhie emphasizing on forgiveness and unity on an auspicious day like this. A word of greeting was also conveyed by Vilalhou Sorhie, President of KVSU.
Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, in his speech, emphasized on the importance of education by stating that knowledge is wealth and the Khel being a pioneer in the field of education. He further encouraged the youth to keep striving forward, to step into the shoes of great leaders in the past and to venture out beyond one’s land. He also released the Jubilee Souvenir during the program.
A cultural extravaganza exhibiting various activities and entertainment were also presented by the Peli Union. The program concluded with a Legacy Concert featuring a wide range of artists.
