The Dapfhütsumia Students Union (DSU) conducted literary day under its motto”Strive for Knowledge” at Dr Neilhouzhü Kire GHSS, Seikhazou, Kohima on July 22.

Visetonuo Kire, Assistant Director, Directorate of School Education graced the inaugural function as the special guest.
Kire maintained that self-sufficiency and dignity of labour are important aspect of the forefathers' legacy and emphasized the importance of hard work and earning a living through honest means.

Respecting our elders, obeying our parents, and practicing good behavior are essential parts of our cultural heritage and these values promote harmony and respect within our communities, she added.

DSU president Mhasituo Kire delivered welcome address while vote of thanks was proposed by Kekhrieneinuo Sachü.
CRC New Market pastor, Kikruneilie Yiese invoked God’s blessing while special number was presented by Nourhengunuo Kire. Mengukhrietuo Yiese chaired the programme. Competition on cultural song, spelling bee, essay writing, painting, sketching, debate, solo singing, extempore, quiz and solo recital was conducted. 

The winners will be participating in the forthcoming Spero Meliora to be held on August 12, a yearly literary competition organized by Kohima Village Students Union (KVSU).
