WOKHA, SEPTEMBER 25 (MExN): The District Task Force meeting on Measles & Rubella was held on September 25 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference hall under the chairmanship of Chairman District Health Society (CDHS) & Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Dr Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS. During the meeting District Immunization Officer Wokha, Dr Khelito apprised on the various activities undertaken to sensitize the parents and children about the importance of the MR campaign and how this highly infectious disease can be prevented with a safe and effective MR vaccine that gives long term immunity. She also requested the Department of Education to issue certain directives to all the Private and Government Schools to take part during the immunization campaign and organize ralliessince 80% of the beneficiaries are from the schools. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the District Health Society asked line departments to extend logistic support for the success of the MR campaign and appealed all parents to get their child vaccinated.
