DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 24 (MExN): The Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF), representing 23 wards and 97 colonies, has raised several public grievances regarding the newly implemented parking regulations.
In a press release, the Federation expressed concerns over the current one-hour parking limit, describing it as inadequate and inconvenient for residents. It requested an extension to 3 hours to better accommodate the public's needs.
Additionally, the DUCCF urged authorities to categorize and exempt certain areas from parking fees, specifically residential and semi-residential locations, as well as locations along the National Highway, which it pointed out should be exempted in accordance with the National Highway regulations.
The federation also highlighted issues with parking attendants, calling for strict actions against those found to be intoxicated or abusive toward the public, including possible termination from their posts.
The DUCCF also said there should be clear rules and regulations that would benefit both the Dimapur Municipal Council and the general public. It expressed hope the officials will take these concerns seriously and act promptly to address them.
