Kohima, October 21 (MExN): With the objective of educating and creating awareness for people living in the International Border block villages, the Department of Under Developed Areas (DUDA) has launched Outdoor Mobile Media Van.

A first of its kind in the State, this programme is implemented under Border Area Development Programme (BADP).
Dr Anungla Imdong Phom, Joint Director, DUDA in a press release informed that the Outdoor Mobile Media Van comprises of two modified four wheeled drive Mahindra Pickups with complete accessories such as LED screen, sound system, laptop and generator. The vehicles have been modified with State Policy for Plastic Free advertisement.

Besides conducting education and capacity building programmes, one of the objectives of the Mobile Media Van is to create awareness about the policies and programmes of the State government. The vehicles will be used to disseminate information on the current policies and programmes of various Government departments which otherwise due to remoteness in geographical location remain mostly unheard and inaccessible.

The vehicles will travel to all remote border villages to conduct seminars and educational programmes with visual and audio facilities under the theme, “Reaching Out to Them.” This initiative of DUDA is perceived as an innovative programme among many other government projects.
