Devotees gather on the Dhansiri River bank, Dimapur on October 8 as idols of goddess Durga and her children were immersed in river marking on end one of the biggest socio-religious carnivals that began last week. Dhansiri River banks wore a festive look as people joined in the colourful immersion processions, to the accompaniment of 'dhak' (drums), band parties as well as music. Before the immersion, devotes accompanying idols were seen depositing most items adorning the idols at a designated areas, possibly to prevent additional pollution. (Morung Photo)
