Dimapur, March 8 (MExN): The Darogapathar Village Council (DVC) reaffirmed its August 18, 2016 resolution to ban any sort of tax collection within its jurisdiction. In a press release, DVC Chairman Nungtok Meren Jamir and Secretary A Ado Bizo said that the Council had received information regarding collection of daily, weekly and monthly taxes by various Naga Political Groups (NPGs). As such, the DVC warned that any individual/ group involved in such activities will be dealt with seriously as per the law. The DVC further clarifies on its earlier stand on ‘One Governemnt, One Tax,’ the statement read.
