In a bid to establish a robust foundation for Naga football, the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland conducted ‘Grassroots Football Festival: Baby League 2025’ at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima on June 21.
Altogether, 297 children joined the event under the categories of 5-6 years, 7-8 years, 9-10 years and 11- 12 years.
Under 5-6 years category, Liverpool bagged the champion title and Manchester United as runner-up; 7-8 years: Winner-Samamati; Runner up- Japfü; 9-18 years: Winner-Shilloi; Runner up- Dhansiri; 11-12 years: Winner- Real Madrid. Runner up- God’s Glory.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Megolhu Dolie, Additional Director, Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland. Kethosituo Sekhose, Director YRS gave away prize to the winners at the valedictory function. The programme was compered by Tosovi Anthony Khariitso, state sports coach.
